OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR SHERIFF OBOREVWORI TO DISREGARD THE BLACKMAIL FROM THE ENEMY OF THE STATE AND WARRI KINGDOM

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori

In a recent development in Delta State, an open letter addressed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has surfaced, urging him to disregard attempts of manipulation and blackmail by certain individuals. The letter, penned by the Itsekiri Progressive Media Team (IPMT), highlights the urgency for decisive action to maintain the integrity of governance and uphold the rule of law.

In the letter the IPMT emphasizes the importance of standing firm against deceitful tactics aimed at compromising the state's regulatory standards. Specifically, the letter raises concerns regarding fraudulent documents being presented to sway decisions, underlining the necessity for the government to prioritize the best interests of Delta State and its people.

Furthermore, the letter brings attention to a shocking incident involving an attempted kidnapping of His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the esteemed Olu of Warri, allegedly orchestrated by a group associated with the former Ologbosere of Warri Kingdom. This brazen act of disrespect for the law underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for resolute action. Read more about that incident here. Click here

Below is the entire content of the letter.

"Dear Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori,
Your Excellency, we believe and hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. We are writing to  you today to address a pressing matter that requires your attention and decisive action, which will set a precedent in the state.

It has come to our attention that certain individuals, driven by ulterior motives, are attempting to manipulate and blackmail you into making decisions that are not in the best interest of Delta State and its people. In their desperate attempt to secure the release of their friends and brother currently detained at the Nigerian Prison Service, Okere Warri (Okere High College).
Sir, they have resorted to sending fake Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) or documents unknown to the Office of the Commissioner for Land and Survey, urging him to accept these fraudulent documents as valid.

As a responsible and ethical leader, it is crucial that you stand firm against such deceitful tactics. The state cannot and should not endorse or validate documents that have no basis in reality. It is imperative that you ensure the integrity of the land and survey records, and safeguard the regulatory standards that govern the state. Allowing these individuals to pressure the government into bending the rules would set a dangerous precedent and undermine the trust of the people.

Furthermore, we must bring to your attention the actions of one Mr. Misan and his loyal group, who are closely associated with the former Ologbosere of Warri Kingdom. This group, in a shocking act of disrespect and disregard for the law, orchestrated the attempted kidnapping of His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the esteemed Olu of Warri at Okere Community on Saturday March 2, 3024.
Their audacity to now pressure the government to fulfill their demands is a clear violation of the regulatory standards that uphold the state's governance.

Your Excellency, we implore you to stand strong against these threats and attempts to manipulate your decisions. The people of Delta State have placed their trust in you to lead with integrity, transparency, and a steadfast commitment to justice. By disregarding the blackmail and refusing to succumb to their demands, you will send a clear message that the rule of law shall prevail in Delta State.

We trust in your wisdom and unwavering dedication to serving the people. Please know that the citizens of Delta State stand beside you in this challenging time, and we believe in your ability to make the right decisions for the betterment of our beloved state.

With utmost respect and support,
Itsekiri Progressive Media Team (IPMT).
