Coalition of Itsekiri Youth-Based Pressure Groups Congratulates Mr. Bayo Ojulari on His Appointment as NNPCL CEO
In a statement released by a coalition of Itsekiri youth-based pressure groups, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari has been warmly congratulated on his appointment as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). The coalition also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for this strategic decision, which also saw the appointment of Ahmadu Musa Kida as the non-executive chairman.
As critical stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil-producing regions, the coalition assured Engr. Ojulari of their full support in ensuring the smooth and successful execution of his duties, particularly concerning resources from Itsekiri land.
Recognizing the Itsekiri Nation and Warri Kingdom as the second-largest producer of crude oil in Nigeria, the coalition emphasized its commitment to working with the new GCEO to drive industry progress. They expressed optimism that his leadership will bring about innovative solutions and sustainable development in the sector.
Furthermore, the coalition acknowledged President Tinubu’s proactive approach to governance, particularly in addressing the concerns raised about the tenure of the former GCEO, Mele Kyari. The statement highlighted that Kyari’s tenure was marred by controversy, leading to widespread calls for his removal to improve efficiency and growth in Nigeria’s oil industry. They commended the President for responding to these concerns and making a decisive change that aligns with national interests.
The coalition concluded by wishing Engr. Ojulari a successful tenure and expressing hope for a transformative era in Nigeria’s petroleum sector under his leadership.
