Governor Oborevwori Signs N979.2 Billion 2025 Appropriation Bill into Law.




Governor Oborevwori emphasized his administration's unwavering commitment to advancing development across all sectors. He thanked the people of Delta State for their steadfast support and called for continued cooperation to ensure the realization of the state’s ambitious goals for 2025.

“This budget underscores our dedication to delivering on our promises of growth, improved infrastructure, and enhanced public services,” the governor stated. “Together, we will achieve new milestones in the development of our great state.”

In addition to the Appropriation Bill, Governor Oborevwori signed five other critical bills into law, reinforcing the state’s legislative framework:

1. Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro (Establishment) Amendment Bill, 2024
Aims to enhance the operational efficiency and governance of the institution.


2. Delta State Structure for Signage and Advertisement Amendment Bill, 2024
Introduces new regulations for signage and advertising structures to improve urban aesthetics and public safety.


3. Delta State Trafficking Prohibition Bill, 2024
Strengthens measures to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable populations.


4. Special Offenses Court Amendment Bill, 2024
Expands the jurisdiction of special courts to expedite the handling of specific criminal cases.


5. Delta State Protection of Persons with Disabilities Bill, 2024
Ensures enhanced rights and protections for persons with disabilities, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities.


Governor Oborevwori’s legislative action demonstrates a commitment to good governance, social welfare, and economic advancement. As Delta State prepares to implement its 2025 budget, citizens can anticipate significant progress in infrastructure, education, health, and social services.
