News Release: Delta State Government Condemns Vandalism of Chevron Oil Facility


 

The Delta State Government has expressed deep concern over the recent act of economic sabotage involving the vandalism of the NNPCL/Chevron Oil facility at the Dibi Abiteye Flow Station in Warri North Local Government Area on Saturday, November 23, 2024.


In an official statement released through the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, the government assured that it is working closely with security agencies and Tantita Security Services to identify and apprehend those responsible for the criminal act.


“The perpetrators of this act will be fished out and brought to justice,” the statement read.


The government reaffirmed its unwavering support for Chevron Nigeria Limited and other oil operators within the state, pledging to continue fostering an enabling environment for their operations. It also called on host communities to collaborate in exposing offenders and preventing future incidents of sabotage.


"The State Government shall not hesitate to deal decisively with anyone or group of persons attempting to undermine efforts to sustain the current momentum in oil exploration," the statement emphasized.
