Governor Oborevwori Constitutes Boards for Traditional Medicine and Tourism in Delta State

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has announced the appointment of members to the Traditional Medicine Board and the Tourism Board. The appointments reflect the administration’s commitment to fostering cultural heritage, promoting tourism, and enhancing the practice of traditional medicine in the state.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, the appointed members are expected to drive innovation, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance sustainable development in their respective sectors.
Traditional Medicine Board Appointees
1. Chief Dr. Ogbogodorm Ogumu – Chairman (Delta North)
2. Dr. Faith Odis – Member (Delta Central)
3. Dr. Ezekiel Alihomuwe – Member (Delta South)
4. Dr. Nwaka Godwin – Member (Delta North)
5. Dr. Iwale Christopher – Member (Delta North)
6. Dr. Mrs. Akpogene Eiwebunakiti – Member (Delta South)
7. Dr. Nelson Idiakpona – Member (Delta Central)
Tourism Board Appointees
1. Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor – Chairman
2. Chief Mrs. Esther Okotie Eboh – Member
3. Chief Shedrack Imonioro – Member
4. Dr. Genevieve Uzoma M. Mordi – Member
The Traditional Medicine Board is tasked with promoting and regulating the practice of traditional medicine in Delta State, ensuring its integration with modern healthcare practices while preserving indigenous knowledge.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Board is charged with advancing tourism initiatives to showcase the state's rich cultural heritage, boost local economies, and attract both national and international visitors.
The Secretary to the State Government noted that the date for the inauguration of the newly constituted boards will be communicated in due course.
Governor Oborevwori expressed confidence in the capacity of the appointees to deliver on their mandates, urging them to bring innovation, dedication, and professionalism to their roles.
