Niger Delta Security Watch (NDSW): The Truth about Pipeline Surveillance Contracts in the Niger Delta
In a recent press release by the Niger Delta Security Watch (NDSW), startling revelations have been made regarding the ongoing malpractice and corruption within the security apparatus of the Niger Delta region. The release, signed by George Fiberesima, the spokesman for NDSW, sheds light on the nefarious activities of certain individuals and companies operating under the guise of protecting critical infrastructure in the region.
One of the primary targets of the NDSW's scrutiny is the Niger Delta Stakeholders Forum (NDSF), which has been accused of perpetuating falsehoods, tribal bias, and outright ignorance. Specifically, the NDSF has been called out for spreading fake news regarding the termination of contracts, particularly that of Pipeline Infrastructure Surveillance Limited (PINL). Contrary to their claims, all pipeline surveillance contracts awarded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) had expired and were awaiting renewal, including contracts held by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) and Maton Engineering, owned by Mathew Tonlagha.
The spotlight then shifts to the non-performance of Mathew Tonlagha, an ally of Tompolo, on the Nembe Creek Trunk Line (NCTL) contract worth $6 million monthly. Despite pocketing exorbitant sums without delivering any tangible results, Tonlagha continues to exploit the system, rendering the NCTL a mere cash cow for himself and his associates.
Furthermore, allegations have surfaced regarding the funding of illicit activities, including the procurement of arms to declare the Niger Delta Republic, purportedly financed by the profits from the NCTL. These revelations underscore the urgent need for accountability and transparency in the management of vital infrastructure in the Niger Delta.
Ahalaji Asari Dokubo's previous accusations against Tantita Security Company and Chief Tompolo add another layer of complexity to the situation, highlighting the pervasive nature of corruption and malpractice in the region. The call by Itsekiri Pipeline surveillance stakeholders for the NNPCL to address these issues is not only apt but also imperative for restoring integrity and trust in the security apparatus.
In conclusion, the press released by the NDSW serves as a wake-up call, urging stakeholders to take decisive action against corruption and malpractice in the Niger Delta. Only through concerted efforts to root out these systemic issues can genuine progress and development be achieved in the region.
Press Release:
NIGER DELTA SECURITY WATCH (NDSW)
Our attention has been drawn to the continuous diatribes, falsehood, tribal bias, and crass ignorance being displayed by some hirelings of Tompolo who styled themselves as the Niger Delta Stakeholders Forum (NDSF).
It is a disgrace that the NDSF first carried a fake news of termination of the contract of Pipeline Infrastructure Surveillance Limited (PINL) when in actual fact all Pipeline Surveillance Contract awarded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) including that of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), and Maton Engineering (owned by Mathew Tonlagha) had expired awaiting renewal.
We wonder while the NDSF is peddling falsehood about the PINL contract simply because the Olu of Warri His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR has vested interest in the company but turned a blind eye to the non-performance of Mathew Tonlagha an ally of Tompolo on the Nembe Creek Trunk Line (NCTL) contract worth $6Million Monthly. The Nembe Creek Trunk Line runs from Nembe in Bayelsa to Bonny Island in Rivers.
It is on record that Mathew Tonlagha pocket $6M dollars monthly without doing anything, and has rendered AETIO operator of the NCTL helpless as the Terminal Recovery Factor of the NCTL is less than 20%.
The NCTL is now a cash cow for Mathew Tonlagha, Keston Pondi, and Tompolo who does nothing but pocket $6M Monthly.
Our intelligence report indicates that it is this free money from the NCTL that the procurement of arms to declare the Niger Delta Republic by Tompolo is being funded.
It is in the public domain that He Ahalaji Asari Dokubo sometime last year made issued a press statement were he accused Tantita security company and chief Tompolo of stage managing all the recorded arrest of vessel and pipeline trunks vandals, he also accused Tantita security company that they are into the activities of hoodlums and bunkery in the Escravos river which till date the management of tantita security service neither deny. We challenge them will current happening in Bayalsa, Escravos and other parts of Delta State that Tantita security service is carrying illegal activities of stealing and selling crude oil met for Nigeria within this location. in is word, we know what is going on in oporuza
The call by the Itsekiri Pipeline surveillance stakeholders for the NNPCL to speak up is apt and timely because they (NNPCL) are the owner of the pipeline and client who awarded the contract. They are also in custody of Terminal receipts of crude delivery on the TFP, NCTL, downtime for repairs, maintenance, etc.
The NNPCL has to come clean on why they chose to award Pipeline Surveillance Contract to Millitants warlord as a reward of taking up arms against the Federal Republic of Nigeria especially when the company has been accused of being involved in bunkering activities across the length and breadth of the Niger Delta.
